STEAK ‘N SHAKE – BACON LOVERS

There’s a slight apprehension in my mind when a steak burger is mentioned, this is solely down from experience with previous burgers, but this time it felt different and it was different. 

Sited in the heart of Chester City Centre surrounded by toy shops and fashion stores is Steak N Shake, a 5 month old burger restaurant with 80 years experience. 

The choice of burgers seemed to be endless being able to add or subtract ingredients at your own will, at times this can be stressful but being my first time, I went simple. 

BACON LOVERS– 
((Double Steakburger, two slices of American cheese, four strips bacon, ketchup, mayo))

I’ve had all of these ingredients on many burgers before, but this particular burger oozed a lot of flavour in a reasonably small area, I was impressed. 

Tender, succulent and delectable are the only words to describe this burger, the meat was cooked to almost perfection which has permanently altered my perception on steak burgers. 

I only had two qualms; there was an extreme amount of sauce, which made eating it an ugly mess and the burger was a tad too small, these could be improved. 

You can see in all areas Steak N Shake know what they’re doing and they know their way around a burger. Burger Rating; 8 out of 10.

Burgers are an anomalous, an incomparable blend of whatever ingredients you feel fit. Which is where the beauty lies, in the mind of the creator and at the fingertips of the maker. 

Closing in to nearly 40 opinionatedburger reviews, it seems like burgers have become 90% of my meal intake and this was carried on at lunch, in the beautiful tourist town of Llangollen. 

I won’t babble anymore, I’ll get to the important content. The burger. Labelled as the Steak Burger, I was interested for three reasons; I’ve surprisingly never had a steak burger previously, I was ravenous and what else could I choose from the menu? 

The entire mass and weight of the burger was overwhelming, not so much the amount of content but the size of each ingredient was not done in half portions. The steak which made up most of the burger was of great quality but the flavour overpowered pretty much everything and that was this burgers downfall. 

The steak was of gargantuan size which killed the burger, but with the chips, salsa and cheese following closely behind I managed to finish the burger feeling accomplished and satisfied. 

I’ll stick to ordinary burgers from now on. Burger rating; 3 out of 10.
