GBK has always stood as my favourite burger establishment, for many reasons but mainly because they always provide the elite when it comes to burgers.
This time I won’t be having your ‘traditional’ burger, I’ll be dining with a vegetarian burger, this was The Californian. The Californian, sounds very impressive with the ingredients of homemade & pan-fried bean patty, mature Cheddar, avocado, smoked chilli mayo, crispy onions, relish – sounds pretty delicious considering it contains no meat, right?
Well, you’d think wrong. The bean burger patty, which i think you’d say is what a burger is centred round, was undercooked and like a ball of mash potato on dry bread. The overpowering flavours from the bean burger patty killed everything else that was pointlessly added to the burger, a huge mistake in my opinion.
If that doesn’t already make you want to avoid this burger completely let’s talk about the price. This burger was the same price as your average meat filled burger which is completely wrong. For bean as a replacement this burger should be considerably cheaper, especially considering it was plainly bean mash potato on dry bread.
With all that in mind, the sweet potato fries are still 10/10, nothing changes. You need to get better at your vegetarian burgers GBK, it’s just not acceptable. Burger Rating 1 out of 10.
